It is often assumed that if your digestion is struggling, that you need to eat more fibrous foods to “get you going”. This isn’t always the case …

If your digestion is struggling you need to give it a helping hand by eating more SOLUBLE fibre foods eg. Oats, bananas, potato, sweet potato (not the skins), soups where the food is already blended, slow cooked meats and stews which are more tender for your body to break down, houmous, soaked chia seeds …

INSOLUBLE fibre foods may just make things worse and need a lot more breaking down by your digestion causing you to bloat and constipate you even more eg. Nuts, Seeds, fruit and vegetable skins, crudites eg. Cucumber, apple, pepper, tomatoes, sweet corn …

Of course, the first two things everyone can do to help their digestion is to 1. Slow down how quickly you are eating and 2. Chew your food properly!! Give your digestive system a helping hand from the moment food enters your mouth.

So take advantage this autumn and winter and cook lots of soups and stews which are actually much easier to digest than summer salads ?
